How does a photovoltaic power plant work?

With photovoltaics you generate your own electricity for your own consumption. You can store it, either by accumulating it in a battery or in combination with a heat pump.

How it works when you decide to purchase photovoltaics

1. Indicative offer

Based on your input, we will prepare an indicative offer for your home photovoltaic power plant.

2. Visit to a specialist

Our specialist will visit you on the agreed date and will inspect and measure the installation site for the proposal of the solution.

3. Technical and commercial specifications

Based on the visit of a specialist, we will prepare a solution proposal and a quote for photovoltaics tailored to your home.

4. Signing of the contract

After agreeing on the technical and commercial specifications, we will send you a contract for your home photovoltaic power plant for signature.

5. Application for subsidy

We will prepare the documents for you free of charge and process your application for a state subsidy from the New Green Savings Programme.

6. Installation of photovoltaics

Finally, we install the solar power plant and connect it to the distribution grid.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is PV?

A PV plant is a device that consists of several cooperating components. In a nutshell, such a system converts solar energy into electrical energy, which you then use in your power sockets, store in batteries for later use, or use to heat water in a boiler.

What is the return on investment for a photovoltaic power plant?

The return on investment is very individual. A large number of factors enter into the calculation of the return, in particular the price of energy, subsidies or the chosen option of accumulating the unconsumed energy. However, for a better idea regarding the specific price of a suitable solution for you, please fill in the form and we will get back to you. Generally speaking, the return period for photovoltaics is usually between 6-8 years (depending on the amount of subsidy)

I already have panels on the roof, what about disposal?

The price of the panels supplied by us already includes the amount for the ecological disposal of the panels which is normally paid by the panel distributor. At the end of their useful life, the panels will have to be removed and recycled by the relevant scrap yards.

On which roof can PV panels be mounted?

The panels can be installed on all types of roofs, i.e. pitched and flat. Roof coverings may be a limitation: we do not mount panels on fibre cement roofing (e.g. eternit, cembrit, ...), which "like" to crack. The ideal pitch of the roof, or panels, is approximately 35 degrees to maximize year-round yields. However, in the case of pitched roofs, we install on roofs from 15 degrees to the standard 45 degrees. For flat roofs, the panels can be installed at angles from 10 to 35 degrees due to the design.

I have an east and west facing roof, is photovoltaic power worth it?

Yes, the panels can be oriented to almost all cardinal directions. The exception is the north, where we never place panels due to reduced yields. Of course, a southern orientation is ideal for the highest yields. However, the combination of sunrise and sunset spreads the plant's generation over the whole day, which can be advantageous for most households, given their consumption peaks in the morning and later in the afternoon or evening.

On the website you mention that you will arrange everything in a turnkey manner, what does that mean for me?

We provide our customers with a comprehensive service, which means that the customer does not have to worry about anything, and we guarantee the subsidy. Together with the contract, our customers will receive powers of attorney, forms and the other necessary documents that must be signed in order for us to carry out the necessary steps starting with the permit for the construction of photovoltaics and ending with the payment of the subsidy to the applicant's account.

Why should I get photovoltaics?

With your own photovoltaic system, you will have a source that will produce your own electricity from the sun's rays, and you will also become self-sufficient and independent of the electricity distributor. As a bonus, the PV will bring you the effect of saving on electricity costs and you will also become environmentally responsible towards your surroundings.

What is the lifespan of a photovoltaic power plant?

The lifespan of the system is very long. Photovoltaics are made up of several different components that have different warranty periods or lifespans. Photovoltaic panels have a performance guarantee of 25 years and a lifespan of around 30-35 years. Thanks to a sophisticated control system, the battery will last at least 16 years.

I'm interested in photovoltaics, but I don't have enough money to buy a battery system: do you offer a cheaper solution?

Yes, if the client does not have sufficient financial resources or does not prefer battery storage, we also install photovoltaics with the accumulation of surpluses in hot water, which is the most affordable option for self-generation of electricity. With this solution, you get hot water heated "for free" 6-7 months of the year, plus you save additional electricity costs associated with running appliances in the house during the day when the system is producing. For this solution, we recommend "adapting" to PV and running appliances such as washing machine, dishwasher or dryer to maximize the use of PV energy and achieve the desired savings with delayed start.

I have an older roof structure, what is the roof load of the PV panels?

The load capacity of the roof is always an important parameter and must always be taken into account. For flat roofs, we recommend a structural assessment of the roof structure. The load of the pitched roof with panels, structure and auxiliary material is about 22 kg/m2. For flat roofs, due to the different anchoring method of the panels and depending on the inclination of the panels, the installation area and the corresponding load, the weight of the panels and other elements can vary from 30 to 45 kg/m2.

How large an area does a typical PV system installation take up?

The average size of our systems installed at our clients' sites is approximately 5 kWp, which corresponds to 14 panels of 360 Wp. These 14 panels cover approximately 27 m2 of roof space.

I want PV

Dear customers,

We greatly appreciate your interest in building a PV plant for your family home or business. Due to the enormous increase in phone calls for installation requests, technical consultations or quotes for PV plants, we ask you to fill in the information below for adequate and as accurate as possible information and possible options for the implementation of PV plants on your property. We would like to ask for consistency, especially in the accuracy and completeness of the address of the building, in order to clearly identify the house on satellite maps and to maximize the accuracy of the consumption for the last 2 years. Thank you for your interest, team Krel Central a.s.
